Q. Is electrostatic therapy painful?

The short answer is no!

The use of Hivamat electrostatic therapy does not cause any pain - as it is a combination of 'hands - on' and traditional massage your therapist will apply an appropriate amount of pressure depending the 'depth' of your injury. You will not feel any sensation from the Hivamat machine its self apart from a slight tingling to a small vibration in some cases. Your body will not become charged with static electricity as the current is actively dissipated in between each 'pulse' of electrostatic energy.

During your initial consultation your therapist will assess your condition and if it is found that an affected area is swollen or sore then electrostatic therapy maybe interspersed with ice pack treatment.

Your therapist will ensure that the affected area is stabilised before commencing treatment .
