At Thera-people we are great believers in hands-on treatment. Even though we use the latest technology and methods to speed recovery, traditional massage techniques have not been replaced. Take a look, below, at some of the methods we employ.

Back Massage. Whether for a problematic area or for stress therapy this is one of the most effective treatments we practice. The spine is particularly sensitive to muscular tension caused by mental stress. When we are stressed our posture is affected - hunched shoulders, clenched jaw, shuffling in our seat all have a detrimental effect on the spine and in turn our nervous system, digestion and organ function. A therapeutic back massage can help reverse both the symptoms and cause of back problems or problems associated with the nervous system. A back massage with Thera-people could include Hivamat electrostatic treatment followed by a 'traditional' massage using essential oils.

Chair Massage. Extremely good for stress alleviation. Carried out on a special chair in a relaxed sitting position, this treatment works on the neck, back and arms, to release tension through increased blood circulation which has a beneficial effect on the nervous system.

What are people
saying about us?

After completing
the Nottingham
half marathon,
I felt on top of the world, the next day my knees were sore and I found it difficult to bend them - a quick call to Thera-people and an appointment was made.

Julie explained about the muscles surrounding the knee and how she could treat them. She talked about how the Hivamat machine would work, what she would be doing and how it would help me - after the 20 minute session I couldn't believe the difference. The soreness in my knees had just disappeared, I felt relaxed and ready to run another marathon.
